On this Tour Stop, we visit the San Francisco Peninsula where competition is fierce, the cost of doing business is rising, and business owners need to ensure their differentiation is obvious from the get-go. In this episode, we visit two businesses to talk all things marketing plus our July Marketing Award winner (a video/Instagram master) collaborates with us and places Bryce in his video...we have a feeling you'll like what you see! 0:49 The first company we visit is Lyngso Garden Materials of San Carlos, which was founded in the 1950's and is one of the most impressive green businesses we've seen as they're part of the Bay Area Green Business Network as well as the California Green Business Network where all businesses can explore the additional benefits of officially being deemed green. Bryce lends some marketing advice on best practices to easily re-purpose what they're already doing. In this case they host weekly workshops with high caliber experts, which is the perfect launching pad for developing content for the growing number of consumers and B2B companies searching for those that aren't green washing or banking on deceptive green marketing. 4:55 Our next visit is to our July 2018 Marketing Award winner, Max Muscle San Mateo where owner, Jason Mayol shares his Instagram and video marketing secrets. His video handiwork has gotten him noticed and he has a massive following of supremely loyal customers that are literally hungry for what's next. In a crowded, competitive space, Jason has definitely set himself apart from his competition. In this segment, we have a surprise video collaboration as Bryce makes an appearance in one of Jason's Instagram videos/stories, but you'll see it all here first (we think you'll get a kick out of it). STAY TUNED If you like what you see, please be sure to click the YouTube subscribe button above and stay tuned for our next Tour Stop as we visit the Salinas region of Monterey County! If you're not on YouTube, just tap any of the icons below and you'll be sure to see all the resourceful content Bryce produces each week to show you how, not just tell you what you should be doing with your marketing.

In this episode, we visited the world-renowned Monterey Peninsula to visit with four local businesses about all things marketing:
We spoke with Carmel-by-the-Sea's Jennifer Blevins, Co-Owner of 8-week-old Mad Dogs & Englishmen about online resources to save time and easily gain exposure while also discussing an easy way to structure all of your marketing each month including the power of video that many local businesses are hesitant to try. We toured California's Winery of the Year, Folktale Winery and Vineyards with Director of Business Development & Marketing, Chris Whitman as Jeff White, Program Director of KRML 102.1 FM joined us to showcase their tremendous strategic partnership. With several awards under their belt, Folktale has collaborated with KRML to create a highly distinctive concert series that attracts musicians that are featured on some of the world's biggest stages. With award-winning KRML being one of the only, truly community-based radio stations in Northern California, their model is unique and they compete quite well with the large-behemoth corporate stations and this is just one of the ways they're winning at the local ratings game. While Bryce and his video crew traveled through the region, they eventually made it to Monterey Epicurean to speak with Andy Banton, President of their operation to discuss the power of LinkedIn, its 2-month video capability and the power of creating content that aligns them with the nation's top chefs and foodie influencers to get ahead of the ever-changing B2B marketing landscape. Watch our next episode as we visit the Burlingame + San Mateo region of the San Francisco Bay Area's Peninsula.

We're excited to bring you this edition of Root of the Matter because our session applies to so many businesses that want to expand beyond their immediate market. This could be creating brand awareness in the region next door or it could be in an attractive market across your state. This could also be a lesson into how to drive traffic to your ecommerce site from markets across the U.S. that have dense populations of your target customer. There is a lot of info packed into this session with Carol Johnstone of Pop Star Booty Camp where we virtually broke it all down virtually as she sat in her North Bay Area headquarters. This is a longer session packed with detail, but if you want to skip ahead, here's the menu of topics you can fast forward to:

"I own a fitness studio in San Francisco, which requires constant marketing. We used to market on an as-needed basis, not strategically, and our business wasn't as profitable as we knew it could be. I was looking for someone to help us establish a brand image/strategy that excited people to join. Bryce encouraged us get to know our clients more than on a surface-level before our first meeting, which has turned out to be the foundation for every business decision we've made since then.
Bryce is methodical in his work -- giving us spreadsheets, handouts and homework. He's a great teacher in that he asked us questions (instead of lecturing) so we could arrive to the best marketing decisions on our own. Our sales are more than DOUBLE what they were this time last year, thanks to Bryce!! I could go on and on about everything I've learned from this invaluable experience. If you love working on your business and watching it grow, your time with Bryce will be worth every minute. It's exciting, thought-provoking and most importantly he helped us make a lot more money than we thought possible in such a short amount time!!!"
